Tesla delivered More than 480,000 vehicles in the second quarter of this year, an increase of more than 120,000 from the first quarter, is a sign that the company can still attract new buyers for its electric vehicles despite the decline in the US market.
The company said Thursday that it produced 451,758 units in the second quarter, of which 442,936 were Model 3 sedans and Model Y SUVs. It delivered 467,762 of those vehicles, with the remaining 12,364 being “other models” — which include the Cybertruck and the late-production Model S sedans and Model X SUVs. It was the company’s best-ever second quarter in terms of raw shipment numbers and easily beat Wall Street expectations.
This is Tesla’s best quarter for total sales since the third quarter of 2025, when it shipped 500,000 vehicles worldwide. While the company is still struggling to reverse a two-year trend of declining overall sales, second-quarter results show that Tesla is finding ways to buck the trend through geographic expansion and cheaper versions of the Model 3, Model Y and Cybertruck.
