We (as an industry) can step up our game.” However, Docter doesn’t explain what the “increase” will entail, and it’s worth acknowledging that Pixar is holding back. more specific topics and perspectives in recent years – and his views such walking behinds.
Alternatively, Laika’s solution is to make people see their movies as just movies. Chief Marketing Officer David Burke told Variety Wild tree the studio does not actively market its films as cartoons, instead believing “(our) audience will find our films regardless of medium. For those interested in animation, if an animated film wins Best Picture at the Oscars, it can be a true sign of respect for the medium. Morris wants the animation staff to be relevant when it comes to Oscar voting Jorge Gutierrez believes that live-action films have a natural advantage, and that “too many Academy members” automatically accept cartoons as something to be tolerated.
