The FBI said the VPN was used by “at least 25 ransomware groups,” including Avaddon, for activities including botnet operations, denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, scams and hacking.
A VPN that is said to be quite popular among organized crime groups downloaded and was captured by a joint investigation led by France and the Netherlands called “Operation Saffron”. It was supported by the European Union’s crime-fighting agencies Europol and Eurojust.
