Google is working on the Gemini program redesign for the past little monthand now we have a first look at the complete overhaul.
The main page sees the Gemini move to a pill-shaped request box. Voice input and Gemini Live are on the right, but otherwise there’s just a “plus” button. This opens a sub-tab with a carousel that lets you open Photos, launch Camera, and view recent photos. You’ll find Files, Notebooks, and “More downloads” at the bottom of the page.
The tools appear in the following list with descriptions: Images, Videos, Music, Canvas, Deep research, and Guided learning. Google is testing this unified approach on Android and desktop webwhile already living Gemini for Mac.
Elsewhere on the home page, the greeting is now “Hi (name), what’s on your mind?” It is centered with the spark of Gemini just above. The big change is a colorful, pulsating background with a gradient effect.
Google has gone back to placing the model selector in the top left corner as a dropdown menu. An updated icon set favoring thin, rounded outlines is also used.

Instead, you’ll just find a temporary chat button. In a big departure for first-party apps, Google has moved the account switcher to the bottom of the navigation box.
When you enter a query, the gradient background is fully used and the effect is beautiful:

In chats, Google has moved the “See thought steps” section to the overflow menu, and this thought process appears as a subpage.
This redesign on iOS makes heavy use of Liquid Glass. Earlier this week initial support introduced, but this one goes a step further. It remains to be seen how this redesign will look on Android.
There have been a few iOS reports of this redesign in the past day, but it’s still a limited rollout.
