Big follow Neural expressive Following its redesign at I/O 2026 last month, Google is making some tweaks to its Gemini skin on Android.
Update 6/6: Dynamic Color for Gemini is now available to stable users version 17.28 From the Google app.
Original 6/2: Gemini now uses Dynamic Color. This theme is more visible in dark mode, where the text area and accompanying chips are no longer gray.
Old and new
With a light theme, the overlapping pill almost changes (except for the microphone), but you can see the difference when you open the “plus” menu. The sheet is colored, and the carousel options are more prominently themed.
You can also open the Gemini app to compare, no Dynamic Colors are available in the full chat experience. It spreads with change Google app beta version 17.28.
The ‘Screen content’ option, which captures your current screen and adds it to the query, is part of the main carousel alongside Photos, Camera, Files, Disk and Notebooks for a more compact experience.
Previously appeared in Tools list with Images and Personal Intelligence. This change is widespread in the stable channel (version 17.26). If you still don’t see the Google app, make sure to force stop it.
