Last week, Google surprised everyone by unveiling its latest fitness wearable Fitbit Weather. It’s a bit different from past Fitbit devices as it doesn’t have a display for input and offers a lightweight, ‘Woop’-like design that can be swapped out with different bands. It’s an interesting addition to the Fitbit lineup, which has been pretty steady in recent years.

A cheaper fitness alternative
The Fitbit brand may be slowly disappearing, but the new Fitbit Air is keeping it alive, at least in terms of hardware. Many consumers don’t like wearing heavy and bulky smartwatches while sleeping, which makes devices like the Fitbit Air an attractive alternative for sleep tracking. And with features like Smart Wake, the device can gently wake you up with vibrations during the lightest stages of sleep, so you wake up refreshed.
Throughout the day, Fitbit Air can automatically track common activities and include them in updates Google Health app. You can also track them manually through the app as you follow your personalized fitness plan. Despite being a relatively small device, the tracker can still monitor a number of typical health metrics such as heart rate monitoring with Afib signals, SpO2, heart rate variability and more, giving you a complete overview of your health.
