UAG or Urban Armor Gear is a prolific smartphone accessories manufacturer from California. The brand has been around since 2012 and makes some of the most rugged phone cases and then some telephone stands around. Expanding its line of accessories, UAG released the Metropolis Tracker Card in March 2026.
The brand’s first attempt at a Bluetooth tracker was decent enough with one notable feature. UAG has mixed the mix of average features with one that gives the UAG Metropolis Tracker Card a slight edge: MagSafe wireless charging.
Magnetic-free wireless charging in Bluetooth trackers is fairly new

Typically, even the best Bluetooth trackers until recently it could not be refilled. Users were expected to spend $20 to $30 on a single tracker, use it for one to three years, depending on the model and brand, and then throw it away.
Of course, this was terrible for the environment because the used trackers would end up in landfills. It also created a recurring cost for users, as users were expected to simply buy a new one at the end of the product’s life cycle.
Eventually, brands started making trackers equipped with swappable CR2032 cells, then custom or USB-C rechargeable ones.

Wireless charging has only recently entered the conversation. Newly released in October 2025 The Chipolo CARD was the first Bluetooth tracker card to boast magnetic-free wireless chargingbut it was not officially MagSafe certified.
Five months after the launch of the Chipolo CARD 2025, the UAG Metropolis Tracker Card debuted. Now and then, several brands have launched their own versions of Bluetooth trackers with wireless charging capabilities.
As Bluetooth tracker cards go, the UAG Metropolis Tracker Card sits on the pricier side, but offers mid-range features. A Bluetooth range of 65 feet (20 m) and an IPX4 splash-proof rating are unimpressive.
However, the Metropolis Tracker Card also has its advantages. It supports both appleFind My Device and Google’s Find Hub networks make it versatile. It’s as loud as 95dB and is only 0.12 inches thick.

The 100 mAh cell inside can last up to five to six months on a single charge. UAG guarantees at least 300 recharge cycles. The cool hexagon pattern is very stylish.
Not only does the Metropolis Tracker Card support standard Qi wireless charging, it also supports MagSafe charging and is MFi certified. Metropolis Tracker Card also provides proximity notifications, but only to iOS users.
UAG, Chipolo and Pebblebee
Here’s a quick three-way showdown between the UAG Metropolis Tracker Card, the Chipolo CARD (2025), and the Pebblebee Card 5. All three are in the same price bracket and have wireless charging support, but only the UAG and Chipolo have non-magnetic wireless charging.

Obviously, the UAG Metropolis Tracker Card is the most expensive, but it has valuable Bluetooth range, a waterproof rating, and battery life. It also weighs the most and is the thickest of the lot.
Bottom line…
At the end of the day, the UAG Metropolis Tracker Card is better than your average Bluetooth tracker because it’s MFi certified and has official MagSafe support. Compared to other Bluetooth trackers from similarly established brands, it’s weak at best and confusingly expensive at worst.
If you want a Bluetooth tracker that charges wirelessly, just get the Chipolo or Pebblebee card trackers. Both brands make some of the best universally compatible Bluetooth trackers with lower prices and better features in the market.
I can only see Apple users benefiting from UAG tracker’s proximity notifications. But even so, I would recommend alternatives because competing brands make better trackers with the same support for iOS and Android.
UAG Metropolis Tracker Card
It is more suitable for iOS users
The UAG Metropolis Tracker Card supports both iOS and Android, but it has an extra feature for Apple users: proximity notifications. This MFi-certified Bluetooth tracker is IPX4 waterproof and charges wirelessly with any MagSafe or Qi charger. Although it works with Android, iOS users will surely benefit more from this Bluetooth tracker.
