TL; DR
- T-Mobile is currently experiencing a major service outage.
- Users traveling from New York to Canada are reporting that they are unable to connect to T-Mobile’s cellular network.
- Verizon and AT&T also appear to be affected.
If your T-MobileIf your Verizon or AT&T smartphone is stuck on Wi-Fi this afternoon, make sure your cellular issues aren’t happening in a vacuum — many carriers seem to be in the midst of fairly large service outages right now.
Users in the T-Mobile subsection of Reddit began report connection problems about an hour ago. With comments from subscribers in California, New York and Georgia, it appears that large areas of the US may be affected.
Not even a week has passed the last big T-Mobile outage we’ve shared with you, and it’s been a particularly frustrating time for the carrier’s users.
While T-Mobile appears to be the primarily affected carrier, with the most individual subscriber posts on social media and checking DownDetector, we find reports of outages. AT&T and Verizonalso.
For AT&T, we’re seeing user reports of an outage in Nevada, but it’s not yet clear how widespread these incidents are across all three carriers. Depending on the nature of the failure, we may be looking at some sort of problem with the backbone provider or interconnection, rather than something specific to a cellular network.
