How many countries can you fill?

On it ESP32 subredditGitHub user Lj545 showed off his newest project, TravelFrame. It’s a beautiful piece of kit that uses a 7.5-inch 800×400 e-Ink display to display each country and US state you visit. Everywhere you are is filled with black, and at the bottom left of the screen is a small counter that tells you how many countries you’ve been in and how far you have to go. You know, for true completionists.

Not only can the map track where you’ve gone, it can also tell you when you’ll be heading out on your next adventure. On the top right, the map shows the ETA for your next vacation and a simple weather display showing what it’s like in your destination country. It must be exciting to see that number slowly decrease.

You can tell the ESP32 where you are and where you plan to go via the web app. The Electronic Ink framework will poll this server every thirty seconds and only refresh the screen if it sees something different.
