When it comes to simulation games, I’ll be the first to admit that I lean more toward racing than flight. But for fans of virtual flight, I can definitely appreciate some impressive equipment.
Equipment like the new Trak Racer Airbus TR550 cockpit I saw recently Sim Racing Expo in Charlotte. The interesting white and blue color scheme is hard to miss.
This is an officially licensed product that takes design cues from Airbus. This new cockpit is small enough that you won’t need an entire room to set it up, with the ability to accommodate your custom flight sticks and any additional accessories you may want to use. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
Trak Racer would like to point out that this is not just a comfortable joystick chair for more than 1000 euros.
“The TR550 is a custom flight simulator designed to replicate the seating position, side column geometry and immersive environment of a modern Airbus flight deck. Not a joystick gaming chair. The real thing – as close as you can get without walking on the tarmac.”
I can’t say I’ve ever been in the cockpit of an Airbus, but looking for photos online, it looks like the Trak Racer has done a good job of recreating the layout and flight position. On top of all that, if you’re a yoke user rather than a stick, you’ll still benefit from the same quality and comfort.
All devices, including the pedals, are fully adjustable, so virtual pilots have complete freedom to build a setup that works exactly how they want.
Even as a non-flyer, it’s an impressive piece of kit. It’s very well made and the seat is so comfortable that I could easily snooze in it after a long day on the show floor.
I love that products like this are available to fly-wire fans and they don’t have to modify a cockpit that was originally designed for wire racing. The seating position feels great and I love how easy it is to get in and out of. Some sim racing rigs require you to be an expert gymnast to bend your body. Bonus points for the armrests too. They are fantastic.
Although it is not cheap, it is worth the cost if you want to buy it Microsoft flight simulator practice one or five steps up.
this It costs €1,028 and $1,198 in the US., but you’ll have to wait a while to get your hands on one. Pre-orders are open, but shipping is currently not expected until October.
Nevertheless, it seems like a simple way to add realism to your experience. equipped with Best flight sticks for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, it’s going to be a pretty cool setup all round.
Importantly, it’s also not particularly massive or over the top. It may not fold, but the seat can be detached if you need a little extra space when not in use.
Although not the target audience, I like it a lot. I think everyone would be very happy with it.
