In a stale sea of cheap, unimaginative phone and tablet devices, the Rolling Square Edge Pro Core stands out as a breath of fresh air. This modular gadget is compatible with MagSafe and magnetic Qi2 devices, and you get a free adapter ring with the kit.
You should start to see why the Rolling Square Edge Pro Core is one of them the latest MagSafe, Pixelsnap and Qi2 accessoriesas I have repeatedly called it.
Installation is not a drag, you can get it done in a few short minutes
Installing the Rolling Square Edge Pro Core might sound scary in your head, but it’s actually quite simple. Rolling Square explanatory installation video does an amazing job of walking you through what’s in the box, how to use each item, and the basic setup steps. The instructions even teach how to remove the glue.
Installation is easy as pie. Place your phone next to the screen where you want it to be installed. Mark this point in your mind or with something tangible but temporary like a white board marker. If it helps, turn the screen upside down and mark that location on the back to remember exactly where you want it.
I broke the rules of aesthetics, but please don’t follow in my footsteps. You need to clean the back of the screen or monitor and stick the base metal plate to a flat surface.
I couldn’t bear to destroy my carefully curated yet chaotic laptop, sticker bombed like nobody’s business. So I just glued the base on top of the stickers. As you can see in the pictures below, Tanjiro Kamado survived the test.
Despite my apparent rule-breaking, the Edge Pro Core still holds my opinion Pixel 10 Pro without any problems. The adhesive base did not loosen or bend and kept the mounting plate stable. It’s really quite impressive to see the magnetic mount sticking to this slim disc. The thickness of the base plate that sticks to the monitor or screen is only 2.5 mm. How in the world is it so strong?
Even after attaching the mounting plate with its hinge and two sides, it doesn’t add any weight or bulk to your screen. I love the quick-adjust book-like hinge mechanism, so your phone or tablet’s angle is always just right.
This is the best way to use your phone or tablet as a second screen
Of course, the biggest advantage of the Rolling Square Edge Pro Core is that it is only 2.5 mm (0.1 inch) thick. But the benefits don’t end there. You can use the mounting plate as a stand-alone hinged phone stand. But most importantly, Rolling Square has created an ecosystem that can be built on, but not limited to first-party accessories. I applaud them for that!
You can get any MagSafe light and attach it to the magnetic mount. Many other wireless chargers can work with it besides the ones designed for the Edge Pro Core. As long as something is magnetic, it will stay on the Edge Pro Core mount.
And since the base plate and mount are still fairly slim, you can keep it there. When I took my laptop out with me, I didn’t even bother to put it down. In fact, I just let it hang on the back of my laptop and fit the whole setup in my backpack with no noticeable differences in weight or bulk.
Horse $29.90 for the basic Rolling Square Edge Pro Core kitI highly recommend this out-of-the-box mount. Worth every cent and every dollar.
