WHAT did they put in Uber? That’s exactly the reaction I got after reading Uber the newly released 10th annual Lost and Found Index. If you’ve ever left your phone in an Uber, take comfort in knowing that someone else was probably behind the whole dishwasher.

Uber’s annual Lost and Found Index highlights the most unique items that drivers leave in the company’s cabs. It’s an annual reminder that while the rides may be over, human forgetfulness never will be.
This year’s list of lost items includes some wild discoveries. While people tend to forget the usual things like phones, wallets, and keys, the list also includes completely baffling items like dentures, breast milk, human hair, live fish, a mannequin, a 75-gallon fish tank, and yes, a dishwasher.
Other notable entries were 20 pounds of duck sausage, a pack of live butterflies, two wedding dresses, pelvic implants and one pair of red bottom Louboutin heels, presumably still looking for a soulmate.
Some trends also reflect what is currently popular. Uber says Labubu dolls are among the most forgotten innovations this year, while riders have left behind health staples like seaweed, protein powder, peptides and even Ozempic. Meanwhile, the company’s drivers continue to restore an alarming number of dental items, including veneers, gold grids and full dentures.

Despite the chaos, phones remained the most forgotten item, with more than a million missing over the years, and New York once again earned the title of America’s most forgetful city. July 17 was the most forgetful day of the year, and the company noted that Sundays typically generate the most lost product reports.
The good news is that returning your items may soon become less painful. Uber is introducing a revamped Lost & Found experience that lets users report missing items and request returns directly through the app so drivers can return forgotten items in select markets. The feature is already available in several US states and is expected to expand nationwide later this year.
