Gilligan shares an update on the status of season 2
A few days ago, Rhea Seehorn (Better yet, call Saul) sat down with Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) for a chat for Variety’s “Actors About Actors” series.
At one point, Cranston asks how long the first season was To many shot, and a very conflicted Seehorn replied, “10-11 months.” Seehorn is equally grumpy when answering how many days it takes to film each episode.

In the video, Seehorn is unsure if Gilligan can reveal this information, saying that “people don’t understand” the process by which Gilligan makes episodes of the show before cutting himself off.
However, Gilligan himself offered some insight into how far along the show’s second season is in development. talking to Deadlinesaid:
Well, we’re a little over halfway there. My writers and I figure out the episodes, and it always — every season on every show — starts off rough. And then you’ll be stuck with it for quite some time. I’m starting to get to the point where I think, I can’t wait to shoot this and have people see it because I kind of dig it.
While the renewal disappointed some viewers who were hoping for more season 2 (perhaps justifying Seehorn’s reluctance to discuss the Gilligan process), fans can at least take solace in knowing he’s not rushing the show off the air, for better or worse.
The first season To many It aired from November 7 to December 24, 2025, more than three years after it was first announced. At that time, Apple TV already ordered two seasons.
