Vivo is no longer keeping the X Fold 6 under wraps. The company has started confirming key details of its next Galaxy Z Fold competitor ahead of its official launch in China later this month, and it’s clear that photography is the star of the show.
Previously folding ones forcing consumers to decide between superior camera quality or larger screens and thinner profiles. Vivo is eager to try this with the X Fold 6, which looks like one of the most ambitious foldable camera phones we’ve seen yet.

But Vivo’s most impressive trick may be its support for the ZEISS G2 telephoto converter. The accessory lets you shoot as close as 200mm, so you can reach further away subjects. Boxiao even claims the setup is ideal for concert photos. However, unlike the X300 Ultra, the new foldable won’t support the more powerful 400mm teleconverter.
The camera system will be powered by Vivo’s latest in-house V3+ imaging chip, which handles all the image processing duties. Vivo has also shared some sample shots to show what the hardware can do.
The screen also attracts attention. The X Fold 6 will have an 8.02-inch internal display with Samsung’s M14 glossy material. Vivo claims the panel has a peak brightness of 5,000 nits outdoors, but also a brightness as low as 1 nit for more comfortable night viewing.
As we said earlier, the foldable device will be equipped with a Dimensity 9500 Super Edition processor and will support desktop mode when connected to external displays. A massive 7,000 mAh battery is also rumored, but Vivo is yet to officially confirm this feature.

Fewer compromises on a foldable device ultimately benefit consumers, especially those who need flagship cameras with the convenience of a larger screen. However, Vivo’s strategy still has a familiar feature: stuffing impressive hardware into the first launch in China only limits who can really benefit from it.
