The Samsung Meta comes out all guns blazing at Ray-Ban, and it looks like we finally know when the company’s smart glasses are coming.
Samsung is said to be working on it smart glasses it’s been over a year now, and recent leaks have given us a first look at what to expect from the Meta Ray-Ban competitor. The Galaxy Glasses It is expected to come in two models and feature a sunglasses design with built-in cameras, speakers and microphones.
Samsung has confirmed this before Galaxy Glasses will arrive later this yearbut we didn’t really have a launch schedule until now. Thankfully, a new report from the Korean publication Seoul Economic Daily claims that Samsung will officially announce the Galaxy Glasses at the next Galaxy Unpacked event.
Samsung is rumored to host the next Galaxy Unpacked event 22 July 2026 in London. The company is expected to launch its next foldable devices there, including the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Flip 8 and even the rumored Galaxy Z Fold 8. Wide layeris expected to compete with applefolding iPhone.
Adoption of Android Central
I’ve been a big fan of the Meta Ray-Ban glasses for a while now, but if Samsung’s Galaxy Glasses are even half as good when running on Android XR, they could replace them in an instant for me. One thing I’ve always missed in Meta glasses is a really capable AI assistant like Gemini and deeper software support, and Samsung’s Galaxy Glasses may finally bring that.
Now, it looks like Samsung’s Galaxy Glasses might also make an appearance at the same event.
Previous leaks suggest that Galaxy Glasses will work Android XR and launch in two versions, one similar to the internal screen XREAL glasses and another without an AR display at all. If true, these could be the first smart glasses to ship Android XR from the box.
There are no pricing details yet, but with the rumored launch just a few months away, we expect more information about the Galaxy Glasses to surface soon.
