It’s been a tough few weeks for fans Bungie‘s long-running live-action looter shooter Fate 2 like me, with the studio announced last month Development on the nearly ten-year-old title will come to an end with its final content update, Monument to Victory, released on June 9.
Since then, Bungie Eventually he continued to patch the game as he prepared to largely lay off hands and focus solely on server maintenance. Fate 2 can be played. Unfortunately, I’d say it sounds like any live service support for this space fantasy FPS is coming to an end soon.
Speaking publicly on social media, Destiny 2 switch manager Dylan “dmg04” Gafner explained that Bungie is “into our final fixes” and that the studio is “close to final delivery of patch notes” as it works on final fixes and bug fixes for the game.
“The team is working to iron out as many bugs as possible as the final patch hits our pipeline,” he said. “Next week you’ll see some skill bug fixes and many other things touched on in a later update, but we’re getting close to the final delivery of the patch notes.”

Gafner went on to mention that before Bungie walks away from Destiny 2, some issues may not be addressed due to “risk” or “triage” priorities. For example, fixing issues that may cause additional issues, low-priority balance changes, fixing visual glitches with gear, or PvP playlist fixes are the types of work his studio plans to support.
Bigger challenges, such as a tech with the new portable Titan Ward of Dawn allows you to push raid bosses off the map and other broken strategies in PvE and PvP are things Bungie is focusing on.
He added that after the game’s final update (the timing of which is to be determined), any further patches will be “restricted to serious issues such as widespread crashes.” After that, if major problems arise, Gafner says, “we’re likely to rely on removing the items, skills, or whatever is the culprit of the problem at hand.”
“Even though the bottom line of all this is a bit difficult, we wanted to set expectations right. We’re not going to ignore your reports. We may be limited in what we can do, but we’re still going to try,” he said. “I appreciate you, always. See you there.”
Bungie will still struggle to some extent, though big It’s pretty sobering to hear that the issues that have arisen since full support for Destiny 2 ended, that he had to be incredibly selective in what he worked on.
It really thinks it’s the end of the game many of us have been playing and loving for years – and based on that recent reports of potential layoffsI fear this will be the end of Destiny and Bungie as we know it.
