WhatsApp continues its Liquid Glass design on iOS, with the latest TestFlight build revealing work on updated message reactions and context menus. Here are the details.
The Liquid Bottle update is still in beta before a wider rollout
After the release of iOS 26 last year, Meta rolled A small-scale test of the Liquid Bottle look applied to the official app’s bottom navigation bar and some elements of its Chats tab interface.
To date, this release still seems extremely limited, with most users still seeing the Liquid Glass interface beforehand.
And in the TestFlight builds, Meta continued to experiment with more Liquid Glass improvements.
It was only in recent weeks that WhatsApp, based on TestFlight, revealed that Meta is working to bring Liquid Glass built-in chat interfaceafter a previous beta that featured a similar fix for apps voicemail player.
now, WABetaInfo reports Meta gives the same treatment to two other parts of the chat experience: message reactions and context menus.
As with other unreleased WhatsApp features WABetaInfothe updated interface is not yet available to beta testers. However, the site was able to activate it before its release, as shown in the screenshot below:

Currently, the reaction vessel has a more solid and opaque appearance. While the context menu in the chat list has now been updated with the Liquid Glass design, the context menu for messages uses a simpler background style with limited transparency effects. As a result, these elements still look visually inconsistent with other parts of the application that have adopted the new design language.
As with other unreleased features discovered in WhatsApp’s TestFlight builds, it’s not yet known when these changes will make it to the App Store version.
Still, the fact that references to the new Liquid Bottle continue to appear in beta builds makes it clear that Meta is actively working on the redesign, suggesting that an official launch may not be too far off.
