There is Microsoft announced Another new recovery method for Windows 11 computers that will allow users to reinstall the OS using the cloud. It’s called a new recovery tool Rebuilding the cloud will restore a PC “clean, known-good condition by performing a full OS rebuild.”
There will be a new Cloud Rebuild feature Download the Windows operating system along with your device driversand install them seamlessly during the recovery process so that your device is fully functional after the OS is reinstalled. without the need for an external USB installation drive.
“Differently Reset this computerCloud rebuild downloads both the target Windows image and the device drivers from Windows Update, so the device returns to a fully functional state without USB media, without a custom image, and regardless of the health of the currently installed OS.”
Reset This PC has had a cloud boot option for some time, but this feature is only useful if the Windows OS is bootable and the drivers are available locally from the device. In scenarios where the OS becomes unbootable, the new Cloud Restore option will be a lifesaver.
Also Cloud Rebuild option to save programs and files is not included. Reset this PC includes an option to save all your data during reset, but Cloud Rebuild is strictly for reinstalling Windows OS with device drivers as a clean slate.
The new Cloud Rebuild recovery option is now in preview to Windows Insiders in the latest Windows 11 preview builds, so it’s not generally available yet, but it should start rolling out to everyone in the coming months.
