It looks like Microsoft is set to launch not just one, but two new Xbox controllers this summer. A few hours after his visions the upcoming compact Xbox Cloud Gaming controller has leakedimages of the next-gen Xbox Elite Controller have now surfaced online.

The last update is the rechargeable battery. It’s finally user-replaceable, meaning if you’ve forgotten to refill it, you’ll be able to replace it with a fresh one when it runs low. Unfortunately, the Anatel listing implies that the replaceable battery is about 500mAh smaller than the one installed in the Xbox Elite Controller Series 2.
Both the original and second-generation Xbox Elite Controllers suffered from quality control issues, with stick slippage and high material wear being issues customers frequently encountered. Hopefully, this third generation Xbox Elite Controller can fix these issues once and for all.
Both the Xbox Elite Controller Series 3 and the Xbox Cloud Gaming controller have yet to be officially announced by Microsoft, but they are likely to be unveiled in the coming weeks, possibly at Microsoft’s annual gaming expo on June 7 this year.
Xbox has seen a number of positive changes over the past few weeks, starting with CEO Asha Sharma announcing her “return to Xbox.” Microsoft is once again interested in building first-party Xbox hardware, and these new controllers should renew hopes that the company is serious about making great gaming hardware.
